Scratch, whose real name is Kal'ian, is a cat-like primal hailing from a hidden realm of wildcat humanoids called the Kali, deep in the Rocky Mountains. Despite his people's seclusion, Scratch felt a desire to explore the outside world and learn about the other cultures that existed beyond the Kali's borders. He left his homeland with the blessing of his tribe's elders and set out on a journey of discovery.
Along the way, Scratch became aware of the nefarious activities of a corporation called Nyman Power, which seeks to exploit the unique abilities of the Kali for profit. Determined to protect his people, Scratch sought out an old friend of the Kali, the mystic sorcerer known as the Crystal Wizard.
With the Crystal Wizard's guidance, Scratch has honed his primal powers to protect his people and thwart Nyman Power's schemes. In addition to his feline agility and heightened senses, Scratch wields a magical sword imbued with the power of the Kali's ancestral spirits.
